Patoranking has been appointed as the regional goodwill ambassador for Africa by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
This appointment, which will last for an initial two-year period, highlights Patoranking’s commitment to empowering African youth and promoting innovation and business growth.
As the new ambassador, Patoranking will lead various programs aimed at improving the innovation landscape in Africa, advancing towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and supporting the Timbuktoo initiative.
In his role, he will use his platform to inspire and mobilize young people to participate in these important initiatives.
“Empowering African youth by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive is a cause close to my heart.
I step into this role to lend my voice to important initiatives that hold immense potential to change development for many of our people through innovation and technology driven by the ingenuity and ambition of the continent’s majority – the young people,” said Patoranking shortly after his appointment.
Patoranking began his music career by collaborating with underground artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam, and Reggie Rockstone.
He then signed with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records in 2010 and later became associated with Dem Mama Records after working with Timaya on the song “Alubarika”.
In 2014, he signed with Foston Musik and gained recognition with the release of “Girlie O”.
In 2015, Patoranking announced a distribution deal with VP Records. He recently released the song “Abule” in September 2020, ahead of his upcoming album.
He also mentioned that he found inspiration for a song while playing football on a pitch in 2020.
