Otumfuo Osei Tutu Warns Chiefs Against Becoming Enemies Of Asante Kingdom

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has issued a warning to his subjects, including the chiefs, urging them not to become enemies of the kingdom and bring about the fall of Asanteman.

Recently, the kingdom has been in the news because the current ruler, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been implementing reforms that he claims will restore the kingdom’s reputation. Several of his sub-chiefs have been deposed for crimes, including illegal mining and the reckless or double sale of land.

Otumfuo claims that many people in Ghana are envious of the kingdom because of its rich history and therefore want to see it crumble.

“We are envied in Ghana, and some wish we could just be ejected.” So, if you find yourself in the kingdom, exercise caution. Isn’t it amazing how the Whitemen came and tried everything they could, but it all came to nothing?

“However, because of our ingratitude, Ashantis have become our own enemies, causing our own downfall. “You should all be very careful because they want to drive all of us out of this country,” Otumfuo warned.

The Ashanti kingdom was established in the 1700s and has since become a shining example of successful traditional leadership and cultural vitality in Africa.
