In a recent appearance on DJ Slim’s Loud Lounge, Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame shed light on the lingering tension between him and fellow Hiplife artist Obrafour, which originated from the contentious song “Kasiebo,” featuring Guru.

Known as the Rap Dacta, Okyeame Kwame reflected on the impact of the song and clarified his stance on the matter.

During the interview, Okyeame Kwame was clear that he holds no grudges against Guru, who was featured on “Kasiebo.”

He expressed his willingness to greet Guru amicably if they were to meet in the future. “Guru was just featured on the track; he wasn’t the main creator of the song. I have no hard feelings towards him,” Kwame stated.

The root of the tension, according to Okyeame Kwame, lies with Obrafour, who released the diss track despite their prior friendship.

“What really hurt was the diss track from Obrafour. We were discussing a potential collaborative album just days before ‘Kasiebo’ was released. It felt like a betrayal,” Kwame explained.

He recounted how they had envisioned working together to delight their fans, making the subsequent fallout all the more perplexing and painful.

The song “Kasiebo” itself became a significant talking point in the Hiplife community, resonating with fans due to its bold lyrics and the controversy it sparked.

Released in 2009, the track was perceived by many as a direct diss towards Okyeame Kwame, leading to a publicized feud that drew attention across Ghana.

The lyrics, which touched on various societal issues and made veiled references to Kwame, stirred debates among fans and within the music industry.

Obrafour, often regarded as one of Ghana’s finest lyricists, had a solid reputation for his thought-provoking and hard-hitting lyrics.

His decision to release a diss track aimed at Okyeame Kwame, who was both a friend and a respected figure in the industry, was unexpected and left many questioning the motives behind it.
