KOD has fired salvos at members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who might be upset about his decision to switch allegiance to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an exclusive interview with Abeiku Santana, KOD, whose full name is Kofi Okyere Darko, expressed his indifference towards those who have issues with his choice to support John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections, despite openly endorsing the NPP for many years.
Furthermore, KOD asserted that he is mature enough to make his own decisions regarding the political party that aligns with his beliefs. He also emphasized that the NPP does not financially support his children’s education; therefore, he is unconcerned about their opinions regarding his departure from the party.
KOD announced in a previous interview that he will be throwing his support behind the NDC in the upcoming 2024 election.
In the previous 2020 general elections, he had backed the New Patriotic Party (NPP), but he has since expressed disappointment in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s governance, leading to his decision to switch sides.
During an interview with JoyPrime on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, the Ghanaian broadcaster expressed his concerns about the state of the Ghanaian economy, believing that it could have been in a much better condition than it currently is.
KOD strongly criticized the Akufo-Addo-led government, stating that they have failed the nation tremendously. As a result, he has made it clear that he will not be casting his vote for the NDC in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
