Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has cemented its place in music history, not just for its chart-topping success but for achieving a milestone that sets it apart from all other diss tracks.
The track has surpassed an impressive one billion streams on Spotify, making it the first diss track ever to hit that monumental mark.
This follows an already remarkable journey for the song, which had already claimed the title of Top Rap Song of 2024, along with being both the best-selling and Apple Music’s most-streamed song of the year.
Released only last May, “Not Like Us” has already accumulated over 1,002,438,426 streams as of now—an astonishing feat, especially considering its short release window. And, the buzz around the song doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

Interestingly, the track’s success has been tied up in controversy, as it’s at the heart of a public feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
The ongoing drama intensified recently after Drake accused Universal Music Group (UMG) of artificially inflating the song’s success by using streaming bots and payola.
In addition, Drake has made serious claims that UMG—Kendrick’s label home at Interscope—released the track with defamation in mind, suggesting that it accuses him of heinous things, including pedophilia.
Despite these accusations, “Not Like Us” remains a cultural and musical powerhouse, adding yet another layer to the already storied rivalry between two of rap’s biggest names.
For now, Kendrick Lamar’s diss track has firmly planted its flag in the record books, both as a chart-topping anthem and as a piece of music history that generated one of the most talked-about disputes in recent hip-hop.
