No witch-Hunt — Domelevo defends ORAL committee’s work

Former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo has dismissed claims that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee is engaging in witch-hunting, insisting that any such effort would collapse in court.

Speaking on Citi Breakfast Show, Domelevo stressed that the committee’s report is based on evidence received, not investigations. He encouraged anyone feeling unfairly targeted to pursue legal action.

“If you think we’ve damaged your reputation, you can go to court,” he told host Bernard Avle. Meanwhile, legal expert and former Berekum MP, Captain (Rtd.) Nkrabea Effah Dartey has raised concerns over the ORAL report’s legal standing.

In an interview with Channel One News, he argued that it cannot serve as a basis for prosecution but can only prompt further scrutiny.

On Monday, February 10, the ORAL Committee submitted its findings to President John Dramani Mahama, who swiftly assigned Dr. Dominic Ayine to initiate investigations into the cases outlined.

So far, the committee has received 2,417 complaints from individuals and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), comprising 1,493 calls and 924 emails.

All submissions, Domelevo noted, have been recorded and preserved for verification.
