Mr Drew has expressed disappointment at not winning The Best Collaboration of the Year award at the recently held Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
During an interview on 3Music, Mr Drew compared his hit song ‘Case’ to KiDi’s ‘Liquor’ ft Stonebwoy, stating that he believed his song was more deserving of the award.
He also mentioned wanting an explanation from the TGMA organizers regarding their decision.
“No song was bigger than ‘Case’ in that category. I believe featuring an unknown artist yet achieving significant success to the point of changing the lives of the artists involved is what the collaboration of the year should represent,” he said.
The 25th TGMAs, which took place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on June 1, was a resounding success.
As previously shared by Tru News Report, Stonebwoy won the prestigious Artiste of the Year Award by beating his main contender King Promise at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) by
The category also included Sarkodie, Nacee, and Black Sherif. This marks Stonebwoy’s second win in this category at the annual award ceremony.
Before this, the Bhim Nation boss had already secured four awards during the night, including International Collaboration of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album/EP of the Year.
In his acceptance speech, Stonebwoy expressed gratitude to his fans, team, and wife for their unwavering support.
