The Guinness World Record attempts continue to capture attention in Africa, as a Nigerian man makes headlines by breaking the record for the most food establishments visited on foot within 24 hours.
According to LIB, Munachimso Brian Nwana achieved an impressive feat by visiting 150 distinct restaurants, surpassing the previous record of 100 set last year by American YouTuber Airrack.
Prior to this, the record was held by TikTok personalities Nick DiGiovanni and the late Lynn “Lynja” Davis, both of whom attempted their records in New York City, while Brian’s remarkable journey took place in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The young man basked in the euphoria of his achievement, writing: “New York has clusters of restaurants and adequate public transportation systems, so doing this in Abuja was much more daunting and challenging.”
LIB emphasized that Bian’s accomplishment is particularly noteworthy because there are no private transportation options available for this record attempt, and given the city’s limited public transit system, he completed the entire journey on foot.
According to GWR, he traversed over 25 kilometres, starting in the Gwarinpa residential area and concluding in the city centre.
He began his journey at 5 p.m. and took a nine-hour rest from midnight to 9 a.m. to sleep.
To successfully set the record, he was required to purchase and consume at least one food or drink item at each restaurant, ensuring that at least 75% of the orders were for food.
Additionally, the official social media account of Guinness World Records has confirmed and recognized his new record.
