A Nigerian man has declared that he will divorce his wife of seven years because she did not support Labour Party (LP) presidential nominee Peter Obi.
After discovering on Saturday, February 25, that she had cast her ballot for the rival candidate in the presidential race, he vowed to leave her.
He can be seen raving about his wife’s choice and threatening to leave her for it in a video that has gone viral online. It was observed that some election officials were attempting to calm the irate guy.

In a related development, Donatus Mathew, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has been named the Federal House of Representatives Kaura Constituency victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
According to the sources in Nigeria, the first LP candidate to win a congressional position in the 2023 Reps election is Matthew, an Okada rider. Hon. Gideon Lucas Gwani, the incumbent member and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), finished in second with 10,297 votes, according to the returning officer, Prof. Elijah Ella.
According to Prof. Ella, the All Progressive Congress (APC) nominee received 9,919 votes, while the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) candidate received 5,354 votes, placing third and fourth, respectively.
The member-elect, Mathew, thanked the electorate for placing their trust in him to represent them in the Green Chamber in a statement to newsmen soon after it was announced that he had won the election.
However, he promised to work with everyone to achieve the desired success while also pleading for their help and collaboration. He reportedly turned to race okadas when things didn’t go his way after his tenure as a councillor.
