The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed its opposition to the proposed change in the election date by the Electoral Commission (EC).
The EC has suggested shifting the election day from December 7 to November 7 and recommended designating election days as national holidays.
However, during the recent Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Monday, January 22, 2024, the NDC’s Director of Elections, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, rejected this proposal.

Dr. Omane Boamah outlined the party’s stance on the matter, stating that the NDC does not support the idea of holding elections in November.
Instead, the party calls for a comprehensive review of the electoral process through inclusive and proper dialogue. Dr. Boamah emphasized that the NDC had already submitted its proposals to the EC for consideration.
Additionally, the party expressed openness to discussions regarding voting on prayer or worship days.
