NDC Primaries: See List of 16 NDC MPs Defeated

Some heavyweights have fallen as far as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries conducted on May 13, 2023, are concerned and Tru News Report has the full list contained in this report.

Lord Kwaku Boam defeated Kwabena Donkor, a former minister of electricity and representative for Pru East, in the primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023.

Mr Boam received 474 votes, beating out Kwabena Donkor (371 votes), Bright Fiawornu (66 votes), and others. With 801 votes, Attah Issah defeated ABA Fuseini, a three-term representative for the Sagnerigu seat.

Nikyema Alamzy, a young businessman, defeated Thomas Dalu, the incumbent member of parliament for Chiana-Paga, with 488 votes to Mr Dalu’s 300. Simon Akibange Aworigo won 475 votes to defeat three rivals, including Samson Tangombu Chiragia, the sitting MP for Navrongo Central.

The MP for Bongo, Edward Bawa was also shown the red by NDC delegates in his constituency. He lost to Charles Bawaduah.

12. Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tay – Afadjato South

13. Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah – Amenfi Central

14. Christian Otuteye – Sege

15. Kobena Woyome – South Tongu

16. Sophia Ackuaku – Current MP for Domeabra-Obom but switched to Ayawaso Central

Meanwhile, the boss of 3Music Awards, Abdullai Abu Sadiq, better known as Baba Sadiq, has won the Okaikoi Central constituency primary election during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) nationwide internal elections conducted on May 13, 2023.

According to information provided by an Electoral Commission (EC) official, Sadiq received 682 votes, beating out his nearest challenger Nadine Issah Salifu, who received 267. The other two candidates, Fred Nii Tetteh and Judge Hasford Quartey garnered 118 and 94 votes, respectively.

Baba Sadiq has contributed significantly to NDC party affairs over the past four years or more, most notably through the creation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto for the arts ahead of the 2020 elections.

Patrick Yaw Boamah, a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the present MP for Okaikoi Central.
