Ghanaian entertainment pundit Vida Adutwumwaa has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prioritize fulfilling its campaign promises, particularly in the areas of creative arts and agribusiness.
Speaking during a discussion on United Showbiz on UTV on January 11, 2025, she emphasized the importance of aligning government investments with visible outcomes and consistent initiatives.
“The name change has to go with the redirection of focus,” Adutwumwaa stated, referencing the newly restructured Ministry of Trade and Agribusiness.
“Right now, if agribusiness has been added to trade, there should be a vivid focus. If the government is pumping money into that industry, everyone should know the job the money is used for.”

Adutwumwaa’s comments come as Ghanaians eagerly anticipate the implementation of the NDC’s campaign pledges following their recent victory in the December 2024 elections.
The party had emphasized agribusiness as a cornerstone of their economic agenda, aiming to create jobs and boost local production through strategic investments.
Shifting her focus to the creative arts sector, Adutwumwaa applauded the previous government’s achievements while urging the NDC to build upon them.
“My focus when it comes to the creative arts is what Sammy Gyamfi said earlier—that every month they will organise an event,” she noted. “So my focus is that every month the government will organise an event.
If the Akufo-Addo government didn’t do anything at all, they did well in the creative arts ministry with their Year of Return and Beyond the Return initiatives. We had people coming into the country only to taste our food because of the comparison we had with Nigerians.”
