Captain Smart And Okatakyie Afrifa Blast Akufo-Addo For Ordering Chief To Stand Up

Captain Smart and Okatayie have criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo on their respective shows on Onua TV and Angel FM, expressing their disapproval of his behaviour towards certain chiefs in the Oti Region last week.

Tru News Report earlier revealed how Akufo-Ado subvented tradition by asking chiefs to stand up and exchange pleasantries with him during the burial of the late Rashid Bawa.

Chiefs, known for their authority and respect, are not usually expected to rise and greet others, but Akufo-Addo broke this norm by insisting that they stand up to acknowledge his presence.

This unexpected turn of events was captured on video and has since gone viral on the internet.

Captain Smart expressed his frustration by criticizing the president’s behavior, comparing it to that of a child throwing tantrums. He further stated that the president’s poor performance has caused him to lose all respect, yet he still demands respect from others.

In addition, Captain Smart reminded both the president and his supporters that it is inappropriate for a chief to stand up and greet anyone, including the president, under any circumstances.

Captain Smart also accused the president of exhibiting tribalism, pointing out that he did not request Otumfour Osei Tutu II or the Okyehene to stand up and greet him as he did with the Oti chiefs.

Supporting this viewpoint, Okatakyie Afrifa, who is a strong supporter of the NPP, echoed the sentiment that Akufo-Addo is egoistic and disrespectful.

Afrifa while addressing the issue on Angel TV, emphasized that the president’s actions go against the customs and traditions of our chiefs.
