Kumawood star Christiana Awuni has strongly criticized Nana Akufo-Addo’s leadership, labeling it as one of the worst in history marked by severe hardships.
During an interview with Aggressive Show host and actor Kwaku Manu, the actress expressed her belief that the president does not even believe in himself, leading to mismanagement of the country and unfulfilled promises.
When asked by Kwaku Manu if she could identify any positive contributions made by the president, she stated that she has yet to see any significant impact.
In her opinion, the only leader who truly made a difference in Ghana is former president John Dramani Mahama, despite claims by the NPP and their supporters that he did not contribute positively to the nation.
In the same vein, Christiana Awuni disclosed in 2023 that she was pressured into supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2016 elections.
She mentioned that she was threatened by producers and directors to face consequences if she refused to cooperate.
She revealed “They cautioned us that woe betide anyone who will join NDC or endorse their candidate, they won’t work with you. So we had to comply and follow their instructions because that’s the only job we do to feed ourselves and apart from acting we don’t have another job if they don’t cast us in their movies anymore.
Asked whether the decision has influenced positive results and also about the whereabouts of the said producers, she said,
“We had to force ourselves to do it by all means but now we don’t know the whereabouts of those producers and now we don’t care whatever they decide to do next.
“Even if the movie directors and producers want they can now go burn the sea it doesn’t bother us any longer because we’re now on our own going forward,” she said
