Nana Aba Anamoah has voiced her astonishment that, despite the strong belief in river deities within African religion, there has been minimal action taken regarding the degradation of water bodies caused by galamsey activities.
The former GHOne manager used her X platform to question why these deities have not taken decisive action against the anonymous politicians and chiefs orchestrating these issues from behind the scenes.
Implying that the gods may not possess the power that locals commonly attribute to them, Nana Aba Anamoah expressed her disappointment in their failure to demonstrate the supremacy they are believed to hold.
Despite Nana Akufo-Addo’s repeated commitments to address the issue of illegal mining, the problem persists without restraint, leading to the rapid degradation of water bodies and forest reserves.
Investigations have revealed that high-ranking officials in the government are in collusion with local chiefs, complicating efforts to eradicate this illegal activity.
In her post on X, the media mogul stated, “What are the river gods doing about the pollution from galamsey? They can’t deal with the politicians and chiefs behind it? I shock give them waa,” she wrote on X.
