Veteran Highlife musician Rex Omar has praised fellow artist Nacee for his impactful campaign songs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Omar’s comments, made during an interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM, emphasized the unique effectiveness of Nacee’s work for the party, stating, “Every song Nacee does for the NDC is on point and it serves the purpose for the party.”
This deliberate approach, Omar believes, eliminates the need for him to replicate similar songs, as each of Nacee’s tracks is specifically tailored to resonate with the party’s goals and audience.

Nacee, known for his expertise in crafting Gospel and secular music, has in recent years become a strategic figure in creating campaign songs for the NDC. His “24-hour economy” song stands out as one of the most notable campaign tracks, a fact Omar highlighted in the interview.
This song has become emblematic of the party’s messaging, effectively capturing the economic concerns and aspirations of Ghanaians, especially during election cycles.
Campaign songs have a strong tradition in Ghanaian politics, as they play a critical role in building a party’s identity and appealing emotionally to voters.
For the NDC, aligning with established artists has been a winning strategy, as music holds cultural sway in rallying support and creating unity among the electorate. Omar pointed out that when it comes to such musical expressions in campaigns, “NDC is number one,” and emphasized that others do not easily surpass the party’s music.
