The father of the young boy involved in the accident with actor and filmmaker Lilwin has denied any responsibility for his son’s death.
Jacob Kofi Ampomah explained in an interview with Pure TV that his son, Nana Yaw, was seated at the back of the car and was thrown to the front during the crash.
Despite criticism from some Ghanaians, including Lilwin’s Public Relations Officer, Ampomah clarified that his son was not seated in the front seat as reported, but was in the back seat and was pushed forward upon impact with Lil Win’s vehicle.
“My son was seated in the back seat although he was not too far from me but he was in the back when the accident happened.
When the accident happened, it threw him from the back to the front. I saw him lying beside me in the front seat,” he said in the interview.
Mr Ampomah also disclosed that medical doctors have told him that he requires surgery to be able to walk again because he’s suffered a fracture.
“Doctors say I need a surgery. They said some of the bones have been broken and I have been given two weeks and come back for surgery,” he added.
Meanwhile, the boy was buried on May 28. Lilwin was involved in the accident just hours before the premiere of his movie in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
Lilwin’s vehicle collided with a Honda CRV, which was occupied by Mr Ampomah and Nana Yaw.
Sadly, Nana Yaw succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital by his father, who also sustained significant injuries.
Initially, the family had not received any communication from Lilwin, but later, individuals close to the actor visited the hospital to offer their support during this difficult time.
