“There’s weight on my shoulders,” he confessed. “My former manager once told me I wouldn’t have it easy because, in the minds of Ghanaians, Kuami Eugene can never have a bad song.”
The Lynx Entertainment signee elaborated on the unique scrutiny he faces compared to his peers. “That’s why when someone else releases a song and it’s just okay, people will still cheer them on. But if I do the same thing, they’ll say I didn’t do well. So all my songs must be exceptionally strong.”
Kuami Eugene’s musical journey has been nothing short of phenomenal, with hits like Angela, Wish Me Well, and Open Gate cementing his place in the industry. However, his impressive track record comes with an almost unrelenting demand for perfection from fans and critics alike.
“When you look at all the songs I’ve done, you can feel that they’re all tough,” he remarked. “But I imagine one day I’ll do a song that won’t meet these expectations.”
Despite this, Kuami Eugene remains optimistic, determined to meet these challenges head-on while continuing to evolve as an artist.
