Renowned Ghanaian rapper Guru has shed light on the motivations behind his political endorsements, emphasizing that his support for any candidate or party is based on progressive policies rather than personal bias or hatred.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye, Guru explained his desire for policies that drive economic growth, job creation, and a stronger digital future for the nation.

Guru outlined the importance of voting for leaders whose ideologies align with progress.

“The reason why we vote is because of the policies and ideologies of someone, and if the world is going digital and someone says he wants to take me more into the digital world, I would support him,” the rapper stated.

For him, the advancement of technology is key to positioning Ghana in a global, digitally-driven economy, and he sees this as a vital part of any leader’s platform.

Addressing the economic challenges Ghana currently faces, Guru stressed the importance of effective policies that tackle monetary issues and create sustainable employment opportunities.

“I would not want my country to go backwards, and if someone tells me my monetary issues aren’t sound and he wants to do what will create more jobs, I will go with it,” he said. He believes that job creation is a powerful tool for stabilizing the economy and mitigating the pressure on the nation’s struggling currency.

The rapper also explained that his political choices are made with the nation’s future in mind. “If you see me taking certain steps, then those steps were taken on purpose and not based on hatred,” Guru clarified.

He expressed optimism that the policies he supports could benefit everyone if executed properly, highlighting his long-term vision for the nation. “Tomorrow, if the policies work out perfectly, it’ll help all of us,” he added.

Guru’s stance reflects his desire for a forward-thinking government that embraces digital innovation, strengthens the economy, and improves the lives of Ghanaians through meaningful reforms.
