Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Adjei Mensah Korsah, has confirmed that the Minority in Parliament is actively working to analyze the reasons behind the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) heavy defeat in the 2024 elections.
He believes that multiple research efforts will provide a clearer picture of what went wrong.
“I know there is something by the parliamentary group as well.
“There is some effort to ascertain the cause of the defeat. It is good because, my brother, if you get it from different angles, you will see that the common areas will feature.
“So it gives you the benefit of comparing various views and opinions, so for me, if you get ten of them, it is fine,” he said in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
He acknowledged that investigations into the party’s electoral loss had begun even before the formation of the Ocquaye Committee, which was officially commissioned to look into the matter. However, he stressed that unofficial research efforts cannot be stopped.

“Don’t forget that some people started their fact-finding before the Ocquaye Committee was commissioned.
“The party cannot stop that, but officially we have what the party is working with. When the people are done, they can present it to the party for it to be interrogated, but the party cannot stop anyone from doing their research,” he noted.
Korsah emphasized that once the Ocquaye Committee releases its findings, they will be compared with other independent reports to establish a consensus on the key issues that led to the party’s electoral downfall.
“When the Ocquaye Committee report comes, they will compare with other research and there will be a meeting point and the principle will always be established.
“Things may be different, but the same perspective. It does not really change anything if there are several researches; rather, it guides you and helps authenticate what you’ve done,” he explained.
