It appears the American rapper, Meek Mill’s unfettered access to Ghana’s seat of government, will not die down anytime soon.

The rapper was in Ghana for the Afronation concert, where he is also connected with his roots. But the exciting trip ended on a bad note.

Ghanaians are unhappy that he gained unrestrained access to the Jubilee House, where he took shots for a music video.

The rapper has been heavily criticized on after he shared snippets of the music video after arriving in the US.

He has since pulled down the videos and apologized to Ghanaians, saying he had no intention of disrespect Ghanaians. According to him, the videos were also taken for specific upcomin project.

But his apology appears not to be enough even after he deleted the videos from his social media page.

Ghana’s Parliamentary Select Committee on Defense and Interior has waded into the matter.

It has hinted at dragging the National Security Minister to parliament to explain how the rapper accessed the presidency.

The Committee says the Jubilee House as a national security installation must be protected at all times.

Ranking Member on the Committee, James Agalga, told Accra-based Citi FM that the security of the President could have been compromised in the process.

“The security of our president could easily be compromised by the conduct of that musician. So we need to call into question the conduct of the head of security of the presidency and as a committee, we will be looking into the matter.

“We definitely will invite the National Security Minister and question him about the protocols that are in place at the Jubilee House,” Mr Agalga said.

The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, also in an interview with Citi News, said the Minority will insist on sanctions against persons who allowed Meek Mill to shoot a music video at the Jubilee House.
