During an interview with Roselyn Felli on Changes on Joy Prime monitored by Ghanastreetjournal, gospel musician Moses OK shared an inspiring testimony he received from a listener in Canada, which deeply moved him.
He recalled, “A guy called me from Canada and told me that he was out with his girlfriend at an African shop buying food. While they were there, my song ‘Nti Me Mepaa Meni’ started playing. Before he realized it, he was crying like someone who had just received the news of losing a loved one.
The lady he was with became embarrassed and left him. Later, this same man gave his life to Christ, and by the grace of God, he is now a great man of God. Stories like this inspire us to do more for the Lord.”
Moses OK expressed his amazement: “It’s amazing knowing that someone heard my song, and now he’s a man of God.” He added, “That song is one of my favourites too. At the time I was composing it, I was going through struggles, and things weren’t going well.
“But I trusted that God was preparing a better future for me, even though my present situation was difficult. I believed that He would change my story.”
He continued to reflect on the impact of his music, saying, “That particular song resonates with many people because they too are in situations where things are not going well. But through faith, God came through for them and changed their stories.”
When asked about his songwriting inspiration, Moses OK shared that his creativity often stems from a close relationship with the Holy Spirit.
“As a composer, you have to be in tune with the Holy Spirit,” he explained. “Songs can come in many forms: when I’m worshipping, singing other songs, or even when I’m having a conversation with someone and they say something inspiring.
“I can pick that up and turn it into a song. Sometimes, it comes from studying the word of God or even listening to a message. Inspiration can come from anywhere.”
