More Dumsor To Hit Ghanaians Between 7pm And 11pm- Report

, Ghana Street Journal

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has informed Ghanaians that there would be more power outages, commonly known as dumsor, during peak hours from 7 pm to 11 pm.

ECG clarified in a Facebook post that 630 distribution transformers in various communities across its operational areas have been identified as operating at full capacity due to the increased demand for electricity.

According to them, this situation may lead to blown fuses and damaged conductors, resulting in power outages, particularly during the peak load period in the affected regions.

ECG has appealed for the understanding and patience of affected customers as they continue their efforts to enhance Ghana’s power distribution system.

Here’s the post Tru News Report sighted:

The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public that so far, six hundred and thirty (630) distribution transformers within communities across our operational areas have been identified to be full to capacity due to increased demand.

This situation may result in blown fuses and broken conductors causing outages, especially during the peak load period (7pm – 11pm) in the affected areas.

However, we wish to assure our customers that transformer upgrading and new projects are on-going to relieve these transformers to ensure a more reliable power supply.

Customers within the underlisted communities/localities are therefore advised to report any localised outage or voltage fluctuations to the ECG Call Center on 0302-611611 (also available on WhatsApp), or reach us on our social media handles via ECGghOfficial (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for prompt rectification.

We continue to seek the support and patience of affected customers as we work to improve our power distribution system.
