Miss South Africa 2020 first runner-up, Thato Mosehle has celebrated one of the most joyous moments in her life: the arrival of her son, Leonard Lesedi, with her husband, Frans Maruma.

The proud new mother shared the news on social media, posting tender hospital photos with her newborn and expressing her overwhelming happiness.

Leonard made his debut on October 8, a day that Mosehle now cherishes as the moment her little “lion” was born.

In her post, she reflected on her journey through labour, calling it “the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’d do it all over again.”

Her raw honesty resonated with many of her followers, particularly as she balanced her joy with the challenges of motherhood.

September was also a special month for the couple, marked by their vibrant gender reveal party, which brought together their loved ones in celebration of their growing family.

The event was made even more memorable because it happened on Frans’ birthday. Mosehle recalled with warmth, “He couldn’t have asked for a better gift,” revealing how the timing felt like an extra blessing in their lives.

For Mosehle and Maruma, this new chapter in their lives is another step in what has been a beautiful love story.

The couple got engaged in 2021, and Mosehle shared snippets of her bridal shower in September 2022, surrounded by her closest friends.

Through her posts, it’s clear that family and love have always been at the heart of her life. She frequently reflects on her relationship with her husband, calling him “the kindest and sweetest man” and describing how deeply she appreciates the bond they share.

“I’m truly blessed to call him my husband forever,” she once wrote, showing her gratitude for his loving and gentle leadership in their marriage.

Their relationship blossomed from an unexpected yet serendipitous meeting at work in 2018. Over time, their connection grew stronger, leading to their intimate wedding and later, the celebration of their first anniversary at the serene Nambiti Hills Private Game Experience in KwaZulu-Natal.

That anniversary was yet another reminder of the foundation they’ve built—a foundation now even more complete with the birth of their son.

Despite her public life as a beauty queen and doctor, Mosehle has often chosen to keep her romantic relationship out of the spotlight.
