Hubert Mbuku Nakitare, known as Nonini, who was born on October 2, 1982, is the fourth child of his parents. Nonini has two sisters, Ruth and Suzzie, and an older brother, Jude, who has passed away.

He was born in California Estate in the Kamukunji constituency of Nairobi, Kenya. He attended Kawethei Secondary School in Machakos County. With 18 years under his belt, Nonini has established himself as an influential figure in the Kenyan music industry.

Nonini chaired the Kenyan Performers Rights Society and kept his record company promoting local talent. He was one of the most influential musicians in entertainment in Kenya, and his passion for his craft earned him the nickname “Godfather of Genge” (Mass Music).

The song “Nonini Ni Nani?” was his first commercial release. The song that became a smash hit and launched his career as an urban musician in Kenya. He was married to the Kenya gospel singer, Lady Bee. The two got married in 2010, and they had a son together. Nonini and Lady Bee welcomed their son, Jaden Githara Nakitare, on May 7, 2012.
