Ghanaian rapper Medikal has spoken out in support of Fameye following the latter’s abrupt departure from the stage at the ‘Xmas Highlife Concert’ in London.
The incident, which has since gone viral, was triggered by technical challenges during Fameye’s performance, prompting heated reactions from fans and fellow artists.
Medikal addressed the issue during a discussion on the Daybreak Hitz show after being briefed by one of the panellists.
Fameye, best known for his hit track “Nothing I Get,” had publicly expressed frustration over the situation, revealing that the event’s organizers had refused his suggestion to bring his personal DJ due to budget constraints.
In a video shared widely on social media, Fameye lamented the challenges he faced on stage. “I told the organizers to allow me to bring my DJ, but they said they couldn’t pay him,” he said, his disappointment evident.

“Now, looking at what is happening, have you seen the turnout? This is very poor. The DJ can’t even play a simple song. Meanwhile, we rehearsed three times before the event.”
Reacting to the unfolding drama, Medikal firmly supported Fameye’s decision to confront the organizers and leave the stage.
“As artists, our job is to give the audience an unforgettable experience,” Medikal said. “When the technical side of things fails, it reflects poorly on us. That’s why involving our team, including our DJs, is non-negotiable.”
The Omo Ada rapper emphasized the crucial role of proper collaboration between event organizers and artists to ensure smooth performances.
He called on promoters to prioritize the technical needs of performers, stressing that a poorly executed show impacts both the artist’s reputation and the overall event experience.
