Fameye’s Frustration Boils Over at Xmas Highlife Concert in London

The festive atmosphere of the ‘Xmas Highlife Concert’ in London took an unexpected turn when Ghanaian musician Fameye clashed with both the DJ and the event organizers during his performance.

The artist, known for his hit songs like “Nothing I Get,” expressed his frustration openly, sharing his disappointment over technical issues that marred his set.

“I told the organizers to allow me to bring my DJ, but they said they couldn’t pay him,” Fameye explained in a video shared online, his voice tinged with frustration.

“Now, looking at what is happening, have you seen the turnout? This is very poor. The DJ can’t even play a simple song. Meanwhile, we rehearsed three times before the event.”

The tension began to build during Fameye’s performance when he asked the DJ to lower the volume to ensure his voice could be heard clearly by the audience.

Initially, the DJ complied, but shortly afterwards, the volume was cranked up again, disrupting the performance. Fameye, clearly upset, walked over to the DJ booth to address the issue.

“This is very disturbing and disheartening. I am heartbroken,” Fameye continued, his disappointment evident. “Do you know how I wanted to perform at this show, even with ten people?” It was clear that his passion for giving the audience a memorable experience was at odds with the technical glitches on stage.

As the performance continued, Fameye asked for a specific song, his original “Nothing I Get,” but the DJ played the remix instead.

The frustration reached a peak when the DJ repeatedly switched songs without following Fameye’s requests. At one point, the DJ played song B when Fameye had requested song A.

Media personality Nii Boye Caleb, who was present at the concert, confirmed the incident, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes tension.

“When Fameye went on stage, he requested a song to connect with the audience. He asked the DJ to lower the volume so his voice could be heard clearly.

The DJ did that, but suddenly, the DJ increased the volume again,” Caleb said.

He continued, detailing how Fameye, in an attempt to salvage the situation, tried to resolve the conflict with the DJ. “Fameye went back to the DJ to try and fix the issue. He also told the crowd how he wanted his personal DJ, but the organizers said they couldn’t afford to pay him.”
