The Medical Director of Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital has been placed on temporary suspension while a committee formed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) conducts an ongoing investigation.

This investigation is in response to allegations that a patient was abandoned in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi, located in the Central Region.

On Thursday, June 13, rumours began circulating, along with a video purportedly showing a woman wrapped in sheets left in a bush. Social media users claimed that an ambulance from the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital was responsible for dumping the woman in the bush.

He explained that the suspension of the Medical Director is aimed at ensuring an impartial investigation with unrestricted access to all relevant information. Kuma-Aboagye further assured that appropriate actions would be taken after the inquiry to hold those accountable for the incident.
