Media personality MC Portfolio has shared insights into what he believes caused his relationship with Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale to sour.
During an interview on Hitz FM, MC Portfolio revealed that he found himself caught in the middle of tensions involving Shatta Wale, Andy Dosty, and DJ Slim—a situation that put his loyalty to the test.
“At a point in time, you know the rift—or whatever you want to call it—between Andy Dosty and Shatta Wale, I was torn between both factions,” MC Portfolio began, laying bare the complexities of his dilemma. “It wasn’t just Andy Dosty and Shatta; Slim was also in the mix. I felt stuck.”
According to MC Portfolio, Shatta Wale’s expectations of him during the tension became a source of friction. “Shatta believed that our relationship had grown to a level where I should openly defend him when issues like that come up,” he said, reflecting on their past camaraderie.

However, MC Portfolio made it clear that he couldn’t compromise his principles or existing relationships for anyone, including Shatta.
“I told Shatta personally that there’s no way I’m going to betray my loyalty to the Andy faction just to please him. I didn’t want to be part of it,” he stated, his tone firm yet tinged with regret over how the situation unfolded.
Shatta Wale reportedly didn’t take this stance lightly. “I don’t know what it was, but he seemed to think that loyalty meant taking sides. For me, loyalty is about honesty and respect, not blind allegiance,” MC Portfolio explained.
“It’s never easy being in the middle of such situations, especially when you respect both parties. But I’ve always believed in standing by my values, no matter the cost,” he said, emphasizing the importance of balance and clarity in his dealings.
The fallout between Shatta Wale and Andy Dosty, which once dominated entertainment headlines, was rooted in disagreements over comments and perceived slights.
