According to a Starr FM report, actress Martha Ankomah has dismissed the public apology issued in her GH¢5 million defamation lawsuit, asserting that it lacked the sincerity and proper elements of a genuine retraction.

The case, which pits the actress against Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, revolves around alleged defamatory comments he made earlier this year.

Ankomah initiated legal action on February 14, 2024, sparking widespread conversation in entertainment and legal circles alike.

During a private High Court session on December 13, 2024, both parties and their legal teams deliberated on a potential out-of-court settlement.

The nearly three-hour session reportedly involved streamlining terms of resolution, yet Ankomah’s rejection of the apology has stalled progress.

Sources indicate that a revised apology may be expected as talks continue.

The High Court in Accra has adjourned proceedings to February 25, 2025, allowing both parties more time to finalize discussions.

With Ankomah and LilWin both appearing at the recent session, the high-profile case underscores the delicate balance of protecting one’s reputation in the public eye.

This unfolding legal drama highlights the importance of accountability and genuine efforts at reconciliation, especially for public figures navigating the scrutiny of a modern audience.

Whether an amicable resolution will be achieved or the courtroom becomes the ultimate arbiter remains to be seen.
