Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has shared her perspective on the challenges of finding a committed partner as a female celebrity, highlighting the unique obstacles that come with public life.
Speaking on Accra FM with host Nana Romeo, Sarfo dismissed the notion that she and her fellow single actresses aren’t interested in marriage. Instead, she explained that many female celebrities take relationships seriously and give their best when they find the right partner.

Reflecting on her own experience, Gloria revealed that she once had a serious relationship that nearly led to marriage. However, issues arose when her partner made certain public statements that attracted unwanted scrutiny.
This experience, she explained, has made her more cautious about sharing her private life, and she now feels that keeping relationships out of the public eye is essential for their survival. “After what I went through, I’ve decided that if I do get married, it will be quietly and privately,” she shared, underscoring her commitment to a more low-profile approach to love.
Sarfo also noted a recurring challenge she and other actresses face: most of the men who show interest in them are not looking for lasting commitment. “As much as we want to get married, it’s unfortunate that the ones bold enough to approach us tend to be the ‘bad boys,’” she said.
“They’re often more interested in a quick romance than in building something serious.”
For many female celebrities, this dynamic poses a real dilemma. Gloria explained that while they, too, hope for meaningful partnerships, finding partners who genuinely understand and support their careers can be challenging.
