Mahama to Visit Tidal Wave-Hit Communities in Ketu South

President John Dramani Mahama will visit Amutinu, Agavedzi, and Salakope on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 2:00 pm to assess the devastation caused by recent tidal waves and offer support to affected residents.

A statement from the NDC Volta Regional Secretariat, signed by Bright Kwashie Ege, confirmed that over 681 individuals from 113 households have been displaced.

“The President’s visit reaffirms the government’s commitment to finding lasting solutions.

“We will work with local authorities, stakeholders, and affected communities to develop a plan to mitigate future tidal waves,” the statement read.

Mahama will engage with residents and inspect the damage as the government seeks long-term interventions for coastal communities.
