President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in 17 new ministers, entrusting them with key roles in his administration following their parliamentary approval.
The ceremony comes after an intense vetting process and parliamentary debate, marking a crucial step in shaping the government’s direction.
Addressing the newly sworn-in ministers, Mahama emphasized the need for unwavering commitment, innovation, and service to the Ghanaian people.
He urged them to prioritize national interests over personal ambitions and work collaboratively to drive development across various sectors.
The appointments span multiple ministries, reflecting the administration’s focus on governance, economic growth, technology, health, foreign relations, and regional development.

Notable appointments include Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo as Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Samuel Nartey George as Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as Minister for Foreign Affairs. The health sector will be led by Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, while Kofi Iddie Adams will oversee sports and recreation.
Additionally, the government has reinforced its commitment to climate action with the appointment of Seidu Issifu as Minister of State in Charge of Climate Change and Sustainability.
Regional development also remains a priority, with new regional ministers sworn in for Ahafo, Savannah, Western North, Western, Bono, Bono East, Central, and Upper West.
