President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier-General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.
The announcement highlights his extensive military and legal background, positioning him as a seasoned professional equipped to lead the authority.
Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono currently serves as the Deputy Commandant of the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) at Burma Camp, Accra.
His academic qualifications include a Master of Laws (LLM) in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the George Washington School of Law, a Master’s degree in Management Studies from Osmania University in India, and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Ghana.
Having been called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2015, he brings both legal and military expertise to his new role.
His professional journey includes training at some of the world’s most prestigious military institutions, such as the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the United States Army Command and Staff College, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.
Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions, including Chief Coordinator at NCDS, Assistant Commandant at the Training and Doctrine Command, and Deputy Director-General of Training at the General Headquarters.
Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono’s experience extends beyond national service, as he has played a significant role in peacekeeping operations.
He previously served as Deputy Force Provost Marshall and Officer in Charge of Special Investigations at the UNIFIL Headquarters.
His expertise in counterterrorism, strategic defense management, and operational training has made him a respected figure in military leadership and security strategy, both in Ghana and internationally.
