John Mahama, through his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has reportedly revoked all public service appointments and recruitments made after December 7, 2024.

According to multiple sources, this decision was communicated through a confidential letter sent to all heads of government institutions.

A prior directive from the Office of the President, issued on January 15, 2025, had requested detailed records of new staff added to payrolls since the post-election period.

The directive, aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability in public service employment, required institutions to submit details of new employees by January 31, 2025.

A leaked copy of the letter addressed to government institutions outlined specific details required, including:

  • Full name
  • Designation/Job title
  • Employee identification number (if applicable)
  • Date of appointment
  • Date added to payroll
