In a solemn moment during the one-week funeral observation of popular actress Mercy Little Smith, President-elect John Dramani Mahama once again demonstrated his commitment to supporting the entertainment industry.
The Master of Ceremonies (MC) announced with pride that Mahama had donated GH¢5,000, along with drinks and water, to support the funeral proceedings.
“Our father, John Dramani Mahama, has donated GH¢5,000, together with drinks and water. Who has done this before?
“If I want to mention the number of actors and actresses this man has helped, I will lose count. I know what I am saying, and I have facts and figures,” the MC stated, highlighting Mahama’s consistent generosity toward the entertainment community.

The announcement was met with cheers and excitement from the gathered sympathisers, who expressed their appreciation for the former president’s continuous support. Mahama’s involvement in the funeral, however, was not just limited to this recent donation.
The MC also recalled how Mahama had supported the late actress during her illness with a significant financial contribution. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, Mercy Little Smith could not survive her illness.
The MC emotionally added, “When this woman was sick, John Mahama supported her all through with a huge amount of money, but because death is not predictable, she could not make it. We want to tell our father Mahama that God bless him.”
