President John Dramani Mahama has appointed an eight-member committee to organize a National Education Forum, fulfilling his pledge to prioritize reforms in Ghana’s education sector.
The committee, chaired by Professor George K. T. Oduro, has two weeks to submit its report and plan.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, stressed the importance of the forum.

“The President is committed to improving education in Ghana. This forum will bring together key stakeholders to develop practical solutions for the sector,” he said.
Professor Oduro assured that the committee would work diligently.
“We are determined to create an inclusive platform where all voices—students, teachers, parents, and policymakers—can be heard,” he stated.
Professor Smile Dzisi added, “This is not just another dialogue; we are focused on translating discussions into policy actions that will make a real difference.”
