Ghanaian rapper Medikal has offered deeper insight into his fractured relationship with Nigerian music icon Davido, shedding light on a moment that revealed a lack of loyalty in their friendship.

Speaking on Hitz FM, Medikal explained how a response from Davido during a disagreement made him rethink the bond they once shared.

The rapper revealed that their fallout wasn’t only about his previous association with Dammy Krane, as many fans assumed.

It escalated when someone from Davido’s camp disrespected him in a song. “When one of Davido’s boys disrespected me in a song, I reached out to Davido to let him know,” Medikal recounted.

However, Davido’s response shocked him. “His response was, ‘the game is the game.’ That’s when I realized he wasn’t loyal to me,” Medikal said, with a tone that suggested lingering disappointment.

The phrase, often used to dismiss personal grievances in competitive spaces, left Medikal questioning the depth of their friendship.

For Medikal, loyalty is not something he takes lightly. “Loyalty means a lot to me, and I grew up valuing it,” he explained. “So, when I saw he wasn’t reciprocating that loyalty, I felt some type of way.”
