Lilwin’s lawyer has expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of her client’s first court appearance regarding the tragic accident involving the three-year-old boy.
The lawyer, Margaret Mary Twum had requested bail for Lilwin due to his health condition and potential repercussions. The prosecution did not object to bail but proposed that Lilwin report to the police weekly.
Judge Buaben Quansah rejected this suggestion, setting bail at GH¢50,000 with two sureties. Lilwin must return to court in four weeks.
In an interview with TV3, Margaret Mary Twum expressed disappointment over her client being detained by the police during his hospital treatment.
“You saw the condition of my client. He’s not well, but we must respect the law. In fact, we were bulldozed here. We didn’t come on our own. Fortunately, his statement was taken and the court saw his current condition. So bail was granted,” she said.
