Ghanaian YouTuber and social commentator Kwadwo Sheldon has accused lead proponent of the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill, Sam George of being responsible for the assault on a male teacher who is alleged to be a member of the LGBTQ community.

A teacher in Prestea, Western Region, was attacked and beaten for supposedly engaging in a relationship with another man. Kwadwo Sheldon, who’s not happy with the incident, holds Sam George responsible for pushing to criminalise LGBTQ+ activities in Ghana. “Blame Sam George for this nonsense!! Blame him,” he said.

The anti-LGBTQ+ which is before Parliament seeks to criminalize homosexuality in the country.

Other legislators who support the bill are Bernard Ahiafor, Nelson Rockson Dafeamekpor, Sam George, Murtala Mohammed, and John Ntim Fordjour.
Its objectives include outlawing support for LGBTQ+ rights, limiting trans healthcare, and making it illegal to engage in same-sex intercourse or public displays of affection.

The bill has passed the second reading and is now in the phase of consideration before it can pass the third and final reading and become law.
