Kennedy Agyapong has reassured the supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he will remain loyal to the party, despite recent events.

The Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) emphasized his commitment to the party to bring about the effective change he envisions. Agyapong made these remarks during a Thanksgiving event in the United States of America.

He dismissed rumours of his departure from the NPP, affirming his belief in the party’s traditions and values. The MP emphasized that being a member of the political party would enable him to actively contribute towards the desired transformation he had previously discussed.

“I will sit in there and make the changes. I will be in there and make the changes. You should rest assured that there are speculations. They said December 4, Kennedy Agyapong is going to make his press conference, and I will be here December 4. I’m not into these kinds of speculations. I will continue to be NPP, but Ghana first,” he said.

Relatedly, Amanda Agyapong, daughter of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, recently shared a heartfelt video on TikTok, recounting the remarkable journey of the Assin Central Member of Parliament and defeated New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer-hopeful.

In the emotional video, Amanda sheds light on her father’s humble beginnings and his relentless pursuit of success, even taking on various menial jobs to forge a path in life.

Eventually, he found himself in the United States, where he continued to strive until he achieved great heights.

Despite his recent defeat in the NPP primaries, Amanda emphasizes that her father’s story as both a successful politician and businessman remains an inspiration to all. She expresses immense pride in his courageous attempt to become the NPP flagbearer, recognizing the significance of his aspirations.

“This man grew up in a village in Ghana with quite literally nothing; had no electricity going, and didn’t have his first pair of shoes until I think the age of 16.

“Was having to sell gum, razor, to help put himself through school, to help put his siblings through school, to help his parents out. He ended up coming to America, becoming a taxi cab driver, a gas station attendant, and working at a bakery. All at the same time put himself through school. Was also at one point a dishwasher and a chef,” she stated.
