Similar to the fiery speeches of the late former Ghana’s president Jerry John Rawlings, Kennedy Agyapong delivered a powerful speech during a party held in his honour.

As a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Agyapong emphasized that no decision within the party would be made without consulting him, as he has proven his worth during the recent presidential primaries.

At the ‘Showdown’ Thanksgiving party organized for his supporters and coordinators after the NPP presidential primary, Agyapong proudly declared his significant influence within the ruling party.

He expressed gratitude to his campaign team and highlighted the challenges they faced, which ultimately showcased their strong presence within the NPP. Agyapong boldly claimed control over one-third of the party, solidifying his position as a key figure within its ranks.

“They underestimated us, but we’ve proven to them that we now control one-third of the NPP. No major decision will be taken without consulting us,” he said defiantly during the event.

In other news relating to the maverick politician, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the newly elected flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), surprised everyone by paying a visit to Kennedy Agyapong, his supposed rival whom he narrowly defeated in the presidential primaries held on November 4.

This unexpected visit took place at Kennedy Agyapong’s residence in Accra on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, as confirmed by multiple sources. According to the Daily Guide Newspaper, the move was strategic political move, highlighting that the meeting, which took place over dinner, aimed to strengthen the bond of friendship between these two influential figures.

Additionally, it aimed to foster collaboration between them for the betterment of the nation, especially as the upcoming election year approaches. “Dr. Bawumia is expected to visit other aspirants and opinion leaders in the NPP as he tries to mend fences and build bridges ahead of the 2024 elections.

“The unexpected visit by Dr. Bawumia to his closest rival in the NPP presidential race demonstrated a strong commitment to unity within the NPP and the broader political landscape,” according to a report.
