South Korean artiste Taeil has been kicked out of the K-pop group NCT following allegations of an undisclosed sexual offence, as confirmed by his label.
SM Entertainment stated on Wednesday via X, indicating that the NCT member will leave the group after being informed of accusations in a criminal matter about a sexual crime.
The label did not provide details regarding the specific nature of the allegations.
“We recognised the seriousness of the issue, and we have decided that Taeil can no longer continue team activities,” the label said.
“We have discussed this matter with Taeil, and it has been decided that he will leave the group.”
The label added that he is fully cooperating with the police investigation.
Taeil is a member of NCT, a highly acclaimed South Korean boy band that made its debut in 2016.
The ensemble comprises more than twenty members, organized into various subunits such as NCT 127, NCT Dream, and NCT Wish.
Recently, the artist has been actively involved with NCT 127. A statement from SM Entertainment attracted over 45.7 million views within just three hours.
