President John Dramani Mahama has appointed actress Joselyn Dumas as Deputy Director for Diaspora Affairs, further demonstrating his commitment to integrating creative industry professionals into key governmental roles.
Renowned for her on-screen excellence, Dumas will now extend her influence to diplomacy and governance, working to strengthen Ghana’s ties with its diaspora.
Her appointment follows a pattern of similar nominations within the creative sector. Fashion designer and media personality Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD) has been named Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, while actress Kafui Danku and actor James Gardiner have taken up roles as Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), respectively.
In her new capacity, Dumas is expected to leverage her extensive network to foster stronger connections between Ghana and its diaspora, advance cultural diplomacy, and elevate the nation’s heritage on the global stage.
