John Dumelo And Fred Nuamah’s Vetting In NDC Parliamentary Primaries Suspended Indefinitely

Until further notice, all candidates for the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary primaries will not be vetted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

John Dumelo, Fred Nuamah, and Moses Barfi Acheampong, candidates for the constituency’s parliamentary seat, did not come before the vetting committee on the second day of the vetting, according to a TV3 news report.

The report states that the NDC has indicated that it would decide how to proceed with the primary for the constituency once the vetting period expires on April 5, 2023.

Fred Nuamah, an actor and film director, has decided to fight his close friend, whom he often refers to as his brother, John Dumelo, former NDC parliamentary candidate for the seat. Both are contesting in the upcoming primaries for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

John Dumelo purportedly assured Fred Nuamah that he would be aiming to become the party’s candidate for the Guan Constituency in the Oti Region. Fred Nuamah claims that he subsequently received John Dumelo’s approval to participate in the Ayawaso West Wuogon primary.

John Dumelo, on the other hand, has accused Fred Nuamah of betraying him by arguing that he never gave Nuamah his approval to run in the primaries.

“After that he sent me a long text message and i said Fred, I never told you I’m not coming back, then he went to pick a form so which blessings did i give, I never gave him my blessings and I never told him in the face that ‘Fred I am not coming back (to Ayawaso) so you can go there’. I never said it, never in any conversation whatsoever,” he said.

“I think this is a betrayal and a stab in the back, especially for someone I’ve known for more than 20 years. He will lose the primaries because if you speak to people they always say they want me to come back and continue the good work he is doing, I didn’t want to speak about this but I needed to clear the air after his statements… he is a liar, and doesn’t deserve my blessings” John Dumelo added.
