Jay-Z has taken legal action against a woman and her attorneys, accusing them of fabricating sexual assault allegations that he claims were knowingly false.
The lawsuit, filed on March 3, 2025, follows the voluntary dismissal of a previous case in which the woman, identified as Jane Doe, had accused Jay-Z and Diddy of assaulting her at a party in 2000 when she was 13 years old.

According to Jay-Z’s lawsuit, the accuser allegedly admitted to his representatives that her claims were untrue, yet her lawyers, particularly Tony Buzbee, allegedly pressured her to proceed with the allegations for financial gain.
Jay-Z contends that the accusations caused him significant personal and financial harm, reportedly costing him over $20 million in lost contracts and business opportunities.
He is suing for defamation, malicious prosecution, and civil conspiracy, among other claims.
However, Jane Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, has pushed back, insisting that his client never recanted and still stands by her story. He further alleges that Jay-Z’s team engaged in harassment and intimidation tactics to coerce her into withdrawing her claims.
