Before we delve more into his family, let’s take a look at who Jalang’o is as we explore entertainment in Kenya. Jalang’o is a renowned Kenyan comedian, actor, brand strategist, director, TV host, radio presenter and entrepreneur. His real name is Felix Odiwuor Kodhe widely known as Jalang.
He became well-known for playing Jalang’o in the Citizen TV drama Papa Shiradula. His leopard print shirt and green suit, which he has worn in several commercials and events, make up his characteristic ensemble. Currently, Jalang’o serves as CEO of Arena Media, a company that plans events.
Jalang’o was born in Homabay, Kenya, on April 27, 1987. He has two brothers and three sisters. He was not very old when his father passed away. Jalang’o is a native of the Luo community along the Kenyan Lake. The birthday of Jalang’o, who is currently 35 years old, falls on April 27 every year.
He completed his primary schooling at Homabay Lake Primary School. He used to travel barefoot to and from school, occasionally going without food. He had the opportunity to enrol in Maseno National School for his secondary school, but he was unable to do so due to financial difficulties at home. After that, he continued his secondary education at a nearby institution.
At Nairobi’s Daystar University, Jalang’o is reportedly pursuing a higher-level marketing degree. Jalang’o originally entered the radio industry in early 2004 when he started working as a host at Kiss FM. He moved to Radio Maisha in 2012 and continued to work as a radio host.
In 2017 and 2018, he moved to Hot 96 FM and then to Radio Milele, respectively. Online rumours circulated that Jalang’o lost his job and that businesses cancelled their contracts with him as a result of the “Boys’ Club Scandal.” This, however, was not demonstrated.

“I actually regret posting my daughter on social media. One, I don’t know if that is what she would have liked. Two, for her privacy’s sake, and three I don’t want people, her teachers to treat her differently cause she is Jalang’o’s daughter,” said Jalang’o.
