In an era where digital content has become a primary source of entertainment, many assume that skit-making is an easy path to fame and fortune.
However, Ghanaian comedian Waris, born Abdul Waris Umaru, has revealed that the reality is far from glamorous.
Despite the growing popularity of comedy skits on social media, he insists that making money from them remains a daunting challenge.
Speaking on Property FM in Cape Coast with Amansan Krakye, Waris shed light on the significant investments required to sustain a career in skit-making.

“It’s not easy to make money from skits-making because you need to do a lot of investments and if you don’t push in funds you won’t get money,” he stated, emphasizing the financial strain involved in producing quality content.
The comedian further explained that despite the perception that online content creators earn effortlessly, skit-making does not always guarantee immediate financial returns.
“Besides, it is not always the case that you make money from skits because sometimes you can shoot a skit for three months without getting a dime from it,” he revealed.
