National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, has set the record straight on the ongoing debate surrounding the proposed Hajj Village at Kotoka International Airport.
Speaking on Asempa FM monitored by Ghanastreetjournal, Gyamfi emphasized, “The Hajj Village is not a government initiative.”
He explained that the airport operates as a profit-driven entity and has a responsibility to maximize benefits for Muslim travelers.

According to him, the facility aims to address long-standing issues with inconsistent flight schedules that have caused many pilgrims to miss their flights.
“The airport management is simply capitalizing on the situation while ensuring a smoother experience for travelers,” he added.
Gyamfi’s clarification comes amidst growing social and political discussions on the project’s ownership and purpose.
