Ghanaian actress and celebrated creative, Portia Asare, has broken her silence on speculations surrounding her recent attendance at a national event.

Addressing concerns that her appearance could be seen as an endorsement of a particular political party or candidate, she clarified her stance in a candid interview with blogger and journalist Attractive Mustapha (Andre Mustapha).

“I am a Ghanaian and an artiste in the creative industry. I was invited to attend a national event, and I see nothing wrong with honouring such an invitation,” Portia said, dispelling the assumption that her presence at the event had any political undertones.

The actress, known for her poise and commitment to her craft, emphasized the significance of unity over partisanship.

“I have not endorsed any political party or any presidential candidate. It’s not about party politics; it’s about us uniting to see the country progress,” she explained.

Portia further underscored the importance of national harmony as Ghana heads toward another election season. “Let’s live in peace, protect our motherland, and be happy that people visit Ghana because they see it as a peaceful nation,” she said passionately.

Her message resonates strongly in a time when the country’s political climate often draws polarized reactions. Asare called for citizens to focus on the greater good.

“It’s good for us to elect a leader for the country. Ghana has done it before, and this is not the first time we’re going into elections.

“All we are asking for is peaceful elections, unity, and love. May God guide us in voting for who He has appointed to come and lead us,” she prayed.

In the face of the speculation surrounding her presence at the event, Portia stressed the professional nature of her involvement. “It’s a private thing for me, and I want to keep it that way,” she noted, setting the record straight for those reading too much into her attendance.
